About me

My name is Lente van den Berg. I am a freelance translator and the owner of Talent Translations. I have always been interested in languages and translating, and English in particular.

Because of my love for the English language, I decided to study for a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Culture at Leiden University. There, I also obtained my master's degree in Linguistics: Translation. During my studies, I developed a true passion for translation. What appeals to me most about translation is that, as a translator, you are able to form a bridge between cultures. My goal is to find the perfect translation solutions for each text so that I can convey the message to the intended target audience in exactly the right way.

I have a wide range of expertise in the field of translation. As I am interested in all aspects of the translation profession, I specialised in legal as well as literary and multimodal translation during my Master’s degree programme and learned how to apply the correct translation procedures to different kinds of translation problems in specialised fields. As a result, I not only learned how to translate different types of texts precisely and accurately, but also how to deal with constraints and translation issues which require original solutions, such as literary style devices, dialects, and humour.
